The New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys have a bitter NFC East division rivalry that goes back for quite some time, with neither team willing to give an inch to the other as they play each other at least twice a season.
Last season, the rivalry between these two teams as well as the Philadelphia Eagles, got a bit of a boost will all three teams being legitimate playoff contenders and needing every win possible to improve their postseason position.
Heading into the 2023 NFL season, it will be more of the same for these three NFC heavyweights, with the Giants and Cowboys gunning for the Eagles after their impressive run to the Super Bowl last season.
However, the plot thickens a bit when it comes to the Giants and Cowboys, with superstar linebacker Micah Parsons recently saying the following about having to face star running back Saquon Barkley twice a season via PFF.
“Going against him twice a year, I hate it. He’s a guy that you might want to see twice in a career, but I gotta see him twice a year. A love-hate friendship,” Parsons said.

Fortunately for the Giants, New York was able to get Barkley to sign a one-year deal with the team after he threatened to sit out the entire 2023 campaign following failed contract talks to secure his long-term future with the team.
Clearly, Barkley gives New York an advantage over Dallas in this head-to-head matchup, with the team’s best defender dreading facing arguably one of the best running backs in the game today.
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out in the NFC East during the 2023 campaign, as it will likely be a three-team race for the division title and a good chance of a matchup between these teams during the playoffs.
