The Arizona Diamondbacks might be a team worth watching in 2023 as they look to take the next step and move closer to contention.
One of the key pieces for their future could be Corbin Carroll, who some think could win the National League Rookie of the Year Award.
The 22-year-old had a short stint in the Major Leagues last season, but made the most of his opportunity, hitting .260 with four home runs, a .330 on-base percentage, a .500 slugging percentage, and an OPS+ of 133.
Former Diamondbacks star and MLB Network analyst Chris Young reached out to some of his old friends within the organization to get the scoop on Carroll.
On MLB Tonight, the former outfielder revealed what he heard about Carroll, that his work ethic had been compared to that of a D’Backs legend in Paul Goldschmidt.

Of course, Goldschmidt is now a member of the St. Louis Cardinals and is the reigning National League MVP.
But given the trajectory of his career, any comparisons to him are not made lightly.
Goldschmidt is a superstar with an impressive work ethic and extreme focus, and it appears that those in the Diamondbacks organization see a lot of that in Carroll.
Young went on to make his Rookie of the Year prediction for 2023, stating that he believes Carroll will be the one to earn the award by the end of the season.
Carroll could be a key factor for the future of the Diamondbacks, as they look to take the next step and emerge as a contender.
