Jalen Carter has been one of the most discussed prospects ahead of the NFL Draft.
At one time, Carter was viewed as one of the top prospects, given his dominance at the University of Georgia.
However, after some off-field issues surfaced, many around the league questioned his character, leading to a potentially diminished draft position.
Despite these issues, teams have continued to meet with Carter, including the Detroit Lions, his most recent visit, per Adam Schefter.
Georgia DT Jalen Carter is visiting the Detroit Lions on Monday. He then will have visited the Seahawks (5), Lions (6), Raiders (7), Bears (9) and Eagles (10).

As Schefter points out, this will be Carter’s fifth visit.
All of the teams that he has met with are slated to pick within the first ten draft spots, per Carter’s insistence.
Carter believes that he shouldn’t fall out of the top-ten picks, and as a result, will not meet with a team outside that range.
Pending a trade, the Lions are slated to pick sixth overall.
Will they choose to take Carter, adding to their defensive unit?
Last season, the Lions’ offense was one of the highest-rated across the league, averaging 26.6 points per game.
However, their defense allowed 25.1 points per game, which was one of the lowest marks across the league.
This happened, even after the incredible season of rookie defensive end Aidan Hutchinson.
If the Lions were to add Carter, they would not only add depth at a much-needed position but have an elite prospect that joins them as well.
Many rumors have circulated about the Lions, which include the positional needs that the team has.
Luckily for Lions fans, they won’t have to wait much longer.
