The NFL preseason is not about winning and losing.
It is more about teams getting a chance to look at their young players as they put together their 53-man roster.
But the Washington Commanders‘ game against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night meant something to both teams.
That is because the Ravens entered the game with a 24-game preseason win streak.
Many Commanders players knew about the streak headed in and wanted to be the ones that ended it.
After a highly competitive preseason game, the Commanders ended up winning, 29-28.
According to The Sporting News, Commanders wide receiver Jahan Dotson had an interesting quote.
He said, “I feel like we just had the biggest preseason W in history.”

With the way the Commanders celebrated after the game, everyone could tell it meant something to them.
Yet, the Commanders had to play their starters a whole half to keep them in the game.
As for the Ravens, none of their proven starters even saw the field.
It was the first time in a long while that we saw both teams care about a preseason game.
Most preseason games are sloppy and lack intensity.
Yet, that was not the case in this game.
Even though the wins and losses do not matter, it is still fun to see players compete at a high level.
Taking every game seriously is a great way to get prepared for the regular season.
Both of these teams are trying to establish a winning culture for this season and this game was a step in the right direction.
