The Indianapolis Colts blew their slim chances of making the playoffs last week, losing 45-33 to the New York Giants.
This result raised many questions about the team’s future.
The Colts will wrap up their season with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday and have decided on the quarterback position for the season finale ahead of their AFC South battle.
Bleacher Report shared on X that Anthony Richardson has been ruled out for the season finale, and Joe Flacco will start for the Colts.

Richardson will miss a second consecutive game with a back injury, and Flacco will have another chance to earn a potential contract for next season and prove that he’s still got it, which is just a couple of weeks shy of his 40th birthday.
Flacco has outperformed Richardson this year, with 11 touchdowns, seven interceptions, and a 66.8 percent completion percentage.
Jacksonville will start Mac Jones once again, who continues to fill in for Trevor Lawrence.
Unfortunately, this AFC South battle will be a battle of the backups for two teams that are running out of time before the offseason.
The Colts have much work to do in the offseason, and the top priority will be finding ways to help Richardson develop.
Richardson was a major disappointment this season with a paltry 47.7 percent completion percentage, eight passing touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.
Even though his ability as a runner has been such a weapon, he has to improve as a passer for this team to go anywhere next season.
