Collin Sexton is ready to make a name for himself with the Utah Jazz.
Speaking with The Athletic, the guard sounded eager to become a reliable and tested player for the team.
“I want to show them that I can run the show,” Sexton said.
He went on: “I want to be able to try and take over the point guard role…I’m getting back into the groove of things. I think this season is going to be fun.”
The Jazz are a talented team with a talented roster.
But how good they can be depends on Collin Sexton, writes @Tjonesonthenba.

Can he run Utah's offense, limit turnovers and defend?https://t.co/z1uQUOqfQ0

The Jazz are an up-and-coming team that showed a lot of promise in 2022-23.
They were first written off as bottom of the barrel but they wowed the NBA fanbase for the first part of the season.
They eventually slid down in the standings and didn’t make the playoffs but fans are still hopeful.
Their strong, youthful core and the number of draft assets they have means that the future could be very bright for the Jazz.
But they are currently lacking a true point guard.
Mike Conley fit that position but he was traded away last season so now there is an opening for the spot.
Players like Sexton, Kris Dunn, Talen Horton-Tucker, and Jordan Clarkson are in contention to be the team’s prominent point guard.
For some NBA fans, Sexton hasn’t yet really shown off his true potential.
After several seasons with the Cavaliers, he was then traded away last year after missing a lot of time in Cleveland.
His move to the Jazz was a fresh start for Sexton but he only played in 48 games last season.
But he tells The Athletic that he is healthy and, more importantly, he is determined.
He believes that 2023-24 could be a major turning point in his career.
Will it earn him the coveted spot as Utah’s starting point guard?
