Colin Kaepernick and coach Jim Harbaugh had commendable success during their time with the San Francisco 49ers.
The quarterback from Nevada took over the starting role in 2012 and led the team to Super Bowl XLVII.
In that game, Jim coached against his brother, John, who was with the Baltimore Ravens.
However, both individuals are not working in the NFL anymore.
Eventually, Kaepernick lost his starting role after the 2016 season allegedly because of his protests regarding the fatal shooting of victims by police.
But in some ways, his waning production may have cost him his job as well.
He won three games in 21 starts while completing less than 60 percent of his passes in his last two seasons.
Meanwhile, Harbaugh led the Niners to three seasons of at least ten wins before ending up with an 8-8 record in 2014.
Unfortunately, a power struggle between him and then-general manager Trent Baalke may have led to his departure.
It didn’t take long before he found a job because he became the head coach of his alma mater, the University of Michigan, in 2015.
As for Kaepernick, he remains out of the NFL, but he gets to reunite with his former head coach at least for one day, as ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter shared.

Schefter tweeted, “Colin Kaepernick has been named the honorary captain for Michigan’s Maize and Blue Spring Game on Saturday.”
The annual tradition is basically a nationally-televised scrimmage wherein the Wolverines pit their offense against their defense.
Kaepernick To The Seahawks?
While this official function for Kaepernick will last for only one afternoon, it seems like his NFL return is gaining some ground.
He has been practicing with the Seattle Seahawks’ Tyler Lockett, which could spark the team’s interest, especially now that they traded away Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos.
With Drew Lock and Jacob Eason being the only play-callers on their depth chart, the Seahawks badly need more help in the position, and Kaepernick may be of assistance.
