At this point of the NFL season, one team after another is getting sorted out of the race for a playoff spot, and in the meantime, other teams are jousting for optimal playoff seeding and home-field advantage.
One team looking for home-field advantage through the conference championship game is the Kansas City Chiefs, the two-time defending Super Bowl champions who are tied for the league’s best record at 12-1.
They will play the 3-10 Cleveland Browns this weekend, and it would seem as if a 13th win is almost a sure thing.
However, Colin Cowherd said on “The Herd w/ Colin Cowherd” that the Browns could very well pull off a huge upset against Patrick Mahomes and crew.

The Chiefs have been called the luckiest team in the recent history of the NFL and possibly all of team sports, as they have won a large number of games this season by the skin of their teeth — 10 of their 12 wins have come by seven points or fewer.
But as Cowherd pointed out, their offense has been struggling, and Mahomes has gotten sacked frequently while the Chiefs overall have failed to cover the spread in each of their last seven games.
Meanwhile, the Browns have been one of football’s best offensive teams ever since Jameis Winston has taken over as their QB1 following Deshaun Watson’s Achilles injury.
Cowherd still thinks the Chiefs will win, and if recent history has been any indication, they will find a way to get lucky yet again in crunch time.
