The Las Vegas Raiders are in a bit of a tough spot right now.
They officially released Derek Carr and only have Jarrett Stidham as a potential starter on their roster.
They do have a top-10 draft pick, but the chances of landing a franchise QB are always slim, not to mention the fact that there should be a learning curve they might not be willing to wait for at this particular time.
So, with Tom Brady already off the table, the Raiders are reportedly setting their sights on veteran QBs that could help them win right away, namely Aaron Rodgers.
And, according to NFL analyst Colin Cowherd, there’s nothing to think or ponder here, as it would be a match made in heaven for all parties involved, not to mention the fact that they’ve recently negotiated from the Davante Adams deal:
“Aaron, let’s start with this, has never missed Davante Adams more,” Cowherd said. “Secondly, Green Bay would love to send Rodgers to the Raiders, I’m told, because it’s a tough division. Three, the Raiders and the Packers front offices have been doing deals the last couple of years. They almost pulled off a Darren Waller deal and they did a Davante Adams deal. These front offices have worked together before.
“Four, the Raiders have the third-most cap space in the league,” Cowherd continued. “The Raiders are also excellent offensively. Aaron is going to a black hole for 4 days. Why not just make it full-time?”

Cowherd makes a valid point right here.
The Raiders need someone who can uplift them in arguably football’s toughest division, with the Chiefs, Chargers, and Broncos all looking to compete at the highest level.
Rodgers can’t afford to wait for his receiving corps to figure things out and take a huge leap forward in year two; he’s 39 years old, and the clock is ticking on him as well.
The Packers would be thrilled to get a big haul of Draft picks  — most likely including this year’s no. 7 to go along with their very own no. 15 — and start rebuilding, not to mention getting Rodgers’ massive salary off their books.
