It’s been a long while since the New York Jets were a contending team.
Over the past years, multiple worrisome reports about the ownership have surfaced.
That’s why Colin Cowherd isn’t surprised to see them rank so poorly in the NFLPA survey.
In the latest edition of “The Herd,” the renowned pundit blamed Woody Johnson for the team’s struggles.

He pointed out that the team currently has the longest active playoff drought in American sports, and he stated that it was because of Johnson.
Truth be told, it’s hard to disagree with that statement, given some of the stories that have come to light.
NFL owners are very successful businessmen, but they don’t always run their teams like they would run their primary sources of income.
Instead, they run them like their toys, often with a fist of iron, and micromanage when they should be delegating.
These franchises are essentially money-printing machines, so it’s not like there’s a major punishment depending on how they fare on the field.
The best owners in sports are the ones you rarely hear anything about, and that’s definitely not the case with Woody Johnson and the ever-struggling New York Jets.
