The Carolina Panthers have had a brutal few years, but they showed some signs of life down the stretch last season as 2023 first-overall pick Bryce Young started to finally show off the talent that made him the top pick in his class.
With less than a week left until the 2025 season kicks off, there isn’t much time left for everyone to fire off their preseason takes, and Colin Cowherd had a hot one about the Panthers.
During a recent appearance on The Drive with Josh Graham, Cowherd said he wouldn’t be surprised if the Panthers won ten games this season, noting that Dave Canales is “the right coach” for Bryce Young and giving general manager Dan Morgan some props as well.

Carolina went 0-3 in the preseason and didn’t show much explosiveness on offense, though the first-team offense did have a touchdown drive in the preseason finale.
The starters got very little time in preseason, so there’s not much to worry about there.
The word throughout camp is that No. 8 overall pick Tetairoa McMillan is looking every bit like the No. 1 receiver Bryce Young needs, and if Young can build off the momentum he showed at the end of last season, this offense could be much improved.
The defense was a major issue last year as well, but there were a lot of injuries and newcomers getting acclimated to the team that should be much more comfortable this year.
The additions of Christian Rozeboom to the linebacker room and Tre’von Moehrig at safety should provide some much-needed veteran leadership as well.
Carolina also has a rather favorable schedule, and with the NFC South being so unestablished outside of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, there is certainly a path for ten wins for this team.
