Caleb Williams has been one of the most highly-touted quarterback prospects in recent history.
Many regard him as a shoo-in for the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, which is nearly a year away.
There has been a heightened emphasis on the quarterback position, and teams recognize the need for a franchise cornerstone.
Williams has drawn comparisons to many great NFL players, including Patrick Mahomes.
Mahomes is widely regarded as the league’s best quarterback.
While these comparisons might seem outlandish to some, in a recent segment on his show, Colin Cowherd called them “reasonable.”
"People are now going to pick apart Caleb Williams… I think the comps to Mahomes are reasonable."

Ultimately, Williams still has another year of college football to get through.
If he can keep this dominance going, he is likely to be the No. 1 pick in next year’s draft.
There have been plenty of highly-touted players that go first overall and end up being busts.
Many analysts have considered Williams to be “Bust-Proof,” a term that seems like an oxymoron.
Nobody can predict how a player will translate from the NCAA to the NFL, even with a player of Williams’ caliber.
The next several months will be telling, not only about Williams’ play at USC, but also how NFL organizations react.
If they truly believe that Williams is a future NFL star, we may see teams tanking for him, especially if their seasons begin with a rocky start.
