Over the course of the 2022-23 NBA season, no team in the league has been more dominant or as imposing on the basketball court than the Denver Nuggets.
With two-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic in his prime and leading the way for this talented Nuggets team, there’s been no stopping Denver, with the future looking very bright for this franchise.
However, the Nuggets are not a sexy team in terms of grabbing national attention like the Los Angeles Lakers or the Golden State Warriors, so a lot of their success this season has flown under the radar for casual fans of the NBA.
Despite the lack of popularity for the Nuggets, Denver has flourished and may continue to do so for many years, as Colin Cowherd of Fox Sports believes the team will never be popular, but that’s fine because neither were the San Antonio Spurs during the Tim Duncan era via the Herd with Colin Cowherd.
"I don't think they're ever going to be wildly popular in the NBA. The Spurs never were."

Comparing Jokic’s Nuggets to Duncan’s Spurs is brilliant, as these teams are very much alike, with a quiet superstar leading the way while being surrounded by equally quiet teammates who don’t seek out the spotlight.
The real question moving forward is whether these Nuggets can be as successful as Gregg Popovich’s Spurs, who won five NBA titles with Duncan leading the way.
Mike Malone’s squad has to win that first elusive title and is currently three wins away from doing so, and if they’re able to do that, the future may be filled with a few more Larry O’Brien trophies being kept in Denver.
