The Los Angeles Dodgers are about to get some pitching reinforcements.
The return of Clayton Kershaw will give their already stout starting rotation a boost.
Kershaw had been out since May with SI joint inflammation.
After signing a one-year, $17 million deal to return to the Dodgers, the 34-year-old lefty ace was 4-0 with a 1.80 ERA in five starts.
Kershaw will be activated over the weekend when the Dodgers take on their heated rivals, the San Francisco Giants, in a three-game series.
Kershaw will make the start on Sunday.
Dodgers insider Juan Toribio tweeted about who would be pitching for Los Angeles in each of the three games, and it’s shaping up to be a pretty solid few games.
#Dodgers rotation for the Giants series is shaping up to be: Walker Buehler (Friday), Julio Urías (Saturday) and Clayton Kershaw (Sunday).

Kershaw Ready To Go
It’s good for the Dodgers to finally get Kershaw back.
He has dealt with more than his fair share of injuries over the past few seasons, but his effectiveness is still the same and when he’s on, he can still be one of the best pitchers in all of baseball.
The Dodgers will have staff ace Walker Buehler in game one of the series on Friday, with lefty Julio Urias towing the slab on Saturday in the second game.
It’s not yet known who will make the start for the Giants opposite Kershaw on Sunday, but the Dodgers will soon have their experienced veteran back and ready to dominate once again.
Again, he’s still effective and can be one of the game’s most dominant pitchers when he’s on and healthy.
The Dodgers are currently ahead of the San Diego Padres by a game-and-a-half in the NL West and 5.5 ahead of the Giants.
Kershaw is coming back at just the right time as the Dodgers prepare for a crucial series.
