Over the course of his long career in the NBA, superstar point guard Chris Paul has rubbed many people the wrong way, namely players and coaches on other teams.
As for players who have played with Paul, it seems to be a different kind of relationship, as he mended fences with some of those he’s fallen out with in the past like former Los Angeles Clippers guard JJ Redick.
Before Paul and Redick played alongside one another in the backcourt in Los Angeles, the two couldn’t stand each other, but that changed once they became teammates and began to respect one another, as Paul details on “The Draymond Green Show” via The Volume.
“In college, me and JJ couldn’t stand each other,” Paul said. “We got in a fight. Got into it, and I never forget, I was standing in my closet in L.A. when Doc Rivers hit me and told me we had a chance to get JJ Redick. And when I say I didn’t like JJ, I could not stand JJ, and as soon as Doc said it, I said, ‘Let’s get him.’ Because I know guys that are competitors, we got a lot alike.”

Once Paul was traded to the Golden State Warriors over the summer, it was another situation where there was some bad blood between him and the players he was set to play alongside, namely Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.
Even though the results on the basketball floor haven’t been great thus far, Paul seems to get along with his new teammates and hopes things will turn around during the second half of the 2023-24 NBA regular season.
