The NBA was rocked last summer when James Harden accused Philadelphia 76ers executive Daryl Morey of lying to him.
It was quite a damaging claim that caught the attention of many.
Now another NBA superstar is saying that Morey lied: Chris Paul.
Speaking to Dwyane Wade on his show, via NBACentral, Paul opened up about when Morey, then of the Rockets, traded him from Houston to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Morey reportedly first asked Paul if he wanted to be moved to the Thunder but the legendary point guard said no, mostly because he had just moved his entire family to the Houston area.
Paul was then completely caught off guard when he received a news alert saying that he was going to Oklahoma City.
“And then my phone started ringing and it was Daryl calling. So I ain’t know…Daryl was like, ‘Hey man, it just moves so fast.’ I said, ‘It’s all good I just want you to tell me one thing. You said you wasn’t going to trade me, right?’ He said, ‘Yeah I said that but–’ I said, ‘That’s all I needed to know,’” Paul said.
Chris Paul reveals that Daryl Morey lied to him by saying he wouldn’t trade him to OKC
“I go over to the gym to go work out and Daryl call me…He said ‘I was just calling you to make sure you didn’t wanna go to OKC.’ I was like, ‘No, why I don’ moved 15 people to Houston.’ And… pic.twitter.com/b8MWeGf4nw

While big deals like this happen often in the NBA, Morey doesn’t look good if he really wasn’t being honest with Paul.
This accusation from Paul is only made worse because of what Harden said in the summer.
The intricate details of Harden’s accusation never came to light but reporting said that Morey promised Harden a max contract that never materialized.
That was the final straw for Harden, who then requested a trade and started a nasty and public war of words until he was sent to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Between Paul’s story and Harden’s comments a few months ago, Morey’s reputation has definitely been damaged.
Will he ever tell his side of the story?
