There is plenty of concern right now for the Kansas City Chiefs one day before their season opener, as star defensive lineman Chris Jones is still holding out while waiting for a huge contract extension.
There is concern that he may end up missing some regular season games as a result, which would put a dent in their chances of repeating as Super Bowl champs.
But the situation hasn’t affected Jones’ spirit of generosity.
He was seen at the Kansas City Ronald McDonald House on Wednesday, delivering Big Macs to the families of sick children, per reporter Aaron Ladd.

Jones is the lynchpin of Kansas City’s defense, and if they’re unable to come to terms with him on a new contract, it could spell doom for them, especially given that they weren’t an elite defensive team last year.
In 2022, they finished 11th in total yards allowed and 16th in points given up, although with Jones’ help, they did finish eighth in rushing yards allowed and fifth in rushing touchdowns allowed.
He recorded 15.5 sacks, 17 tackles for loss, and 29 quarterback hits, earning him his fourth straight trip to the Pro Bowl and his first selection onto the All-Pro First Team.
The Chiefs now have another big concern — namely, a knee injury star tight end Travis Kelce suffered on Tuesday that has left him questionable for their Thursday season opener versus the upstart Detroit Lions.
Perhaps they’re learning why no NFL team has repeated as Super Bowl champions since the New England Patriots in the mid-2000s.
