The 2023 NFL season is already looking like a lost one for the New York Giants as they suffered another humiliating loss, this time to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 4.
The Giants lost 24-3 and both the players and coaches showed visible frustration on the sideline during the beatdown.
Daniel Jones once again struggled under center as he only threw for 203 yards and was intercepted twice on the night.
However, fans could hardly blame Jones for the poor passing performance as he was constantly under pressure and was even sacked 11 times.
Despite the pocket collapsing on nearly every passing down, though, Jones didn’t quite look comfortable with his reads and the Giants’ offense suffered because of it.
After another dispiriting showing, Chris Broussard proclaimed that New York should regret extending Jones and that they should have paid Saquon Barkley instead via First Things First.
"I was thinking the Giants would regret paying Daniel Jones on March 7, 2023 — which is when they signed him to the 4-yr/$160M deal. They should've franchised him & paid Saquon."

Jones got paid a massive extension, while Barkley received the franchise tag which he initially refused to sign.
Barkley would go on to hold out from New York before the two sides eventually agreed on a one-year deal that would pay him upwards of $11 million.
The star running back has been sidelined since injuring his ankle in the team’s Week 2 comeback win against the Arizona Cardinals and it’s clear that Jones misses him on the field.
When healthy, Barkley is able to rip apart defenses on the ground as well as serve as a reliable outlet for Jones in the short areas of the field.
It’s hard to imagine the Giants’ offense improving until Barkley gets back, though that could come as soon as Week 5 against the Miami Dolphins.
