The New York Jets cannot catch a break.
They went on a six-game losing streak last season after going 7-4 only to be eliminated from playoff contention.
This season, they had Aaron Rodgers for only four snaps.
The offseason hype and attention has diminished after the four-time NFL Most Valuable Player suffered an Achilles injury after a Leonard Floyd sack.
While Rodgers has now undergone successful surgery, the long recovery has just begun.
But after this unfortunate incident, Chris Broussard says retirement should be on the table for Rodgers.
“I think retirement should be on the board for Aaron Rodgers,” Broussard said

Broussard backed up his statement with some arguments.
First, Rodgers has given vague comments in the past, and his “I shall rise yet again” claim on Instagram might mean getting back on his feet but not necessarily playing football.

Second, the Achilles injury might limit his mobility and ability to play off-script.
Third, the excitement of his potential return next season isn’t as extravagant as the energy he brought when the Green Bay Packers traded him to New York.
Finally, even if he returns, his teammates might think that Rodgers might get injured again.
While this injury is potentially a massive setback to the Jets’ playoff hopes, his contract situation might inspire optimism.
He is under a two-year deal with the Jets and agreed to a pay cut to accommodate more talent.
It means that Rodgers is invested to play in 2024.
