It’s been a surprising and busy summer for the Boston Celtics, who have shed a few of their most important players and brought in several promising ones.
Chris Boucher is about to start his first season in Boston, and he has now chosen the jersey number he’ll wear.
According to Etienne Catalan, Boucher will have No. 99 on his back, which was last worn by Justin Champagnie in 2023.

Boucher has spent his last seven years with the Toronto Raptors, averaging 8.9 points and 5.1 rebounds during that time.
The Raptors were once champions, but they have devolved over the last few seasons.
Because of that, Boucher hasn’t received a lot of attention from fans, but there are many who think he could be a great pick-up for Boston.
This is a team that is in a transitional, but perhaps brief, period.
They will be without Jayson Tatum in the new season and are attempting to get by despite that.
That is one of the reasons why they have said goodbye to players like Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday and brought in cheaper alternatives such as Boucher.
This is going to be a very interesting season for the Celtics, and people wouldn’t be shocked if it were really tough or surprisingly strong.
Boucher could be in a great position to impress and get a lot of time on the court.
After years of playing for a subpar team that didn’t inspire a lot of faith, he is going to be performing for one of the most historic and popular franchises of all time.
