The Kansas City Chiefs are actively searching for roster depth as training camp intensifies and preseason action approaches.
With injuries mounting across key position groups, the front office has turned its attention to evaluating external talent that could provide immediate help.
The Chiefs hosted workouts for six players as they prepare for their preseason opener against the Arizona Cardinals on August 9.
The group included Kawaan Baker, Ajani Carter, Harrison Hand, Kaleb Hayes, Azizi Hearn, and Kwamie Lassiter II, as per reports from KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson.

The timing of these workouts appears strategic, given Kansas City’s current injury situation at wide receiver.
Xavier Worthy remains in concussion protocol while Skyy Moore deals with a hamstring issue.
Marquise “Hollywood” Brown is also sidelined with an ankle injury, creating thin depth at a position that requires multiple contributors.
Among the players brought in, former Cincinnati Bengals receiver Kwamie Lassiter II has reportedly agreed to terms with the team.
Lassiter recently played for the Memphis Showboats in the UFL and brings professional experience to a receiving corps that needs bodies.
The workout group also featured several defensive backs, including Harrison Hand, who has previous NFL experience with the Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears, and Atlanta Falcons.
At 26, Hand has shown flashes of potential during his limited opportunities at the professional level.
Kansas City’s secondary has dealt with its own reshuffling due to injuries, making the competition for roster spots even more competitive.
The Chiefs are known for making proactive moves to address depth concerns, and these evaluations could lead to additional signings as the team prepares for preseason games and the eventual roster cutdown process.
