The Kansas City Chiefs have already secured their division and a spot in the playoffs.
They haven’t, however, clinched the No. 1 spot in the conference.
That’s why they will take some risks and send Patrick Mahomes out there on Saturday.
According to a report by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Mahomes will start vs. the Houston Texans.
Apparently, he had some help from his athletic trainer, Julie Frymyer, who also helped him rehab from a similar ankle injury last season.

Mahomes had to leave the game vs. the Cleveland Browns because of the injury.
Carson Wentz took the reins of the offense, and there were doubts about whether Mahomes would be able to suit up on Saturday.
He practiced all week, and the team seemingly always expected him to be there.
Mahomes has been one of the most durable quarterbacks in the game.
Still, the Chiefs will play three games in a ten-day span, and they might want to take a big-picture approach here.
Even if they still haven’t secured the top seed and a first-round bye, they must consider all the potential implications that losing Mahomes could have for them.
He hasn’t played up to his usual level this season, but he’s still been elite down the stretch, and he’s still the best quarterback in the game.
The Chiefs are looking to become the first team to win three consecutive Super Bowls, and it would be a shame to see that historical quest falling short because of an injury.
