The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly adding some help to the backend of their defense just in time for the stretch run.
According to insider Jordan Schultz, cornerback Jaylen Watson (broken fibula) has been designated to return from IR and is set to practice today.
The former seventh-round pick had started all six games this year before going down in October with his broken fibula.
Breaking: The #Chiefs are designating CB Jaylen Watson to return from IR, and he will practice today, sources tell @NFLonFOX. This is a huge boost for Kansas City, who has been without Watson since late October due to a broken fibula.

Just when you think the Chiefs can’t get any more help on either side of the ball, they do just that by bringing back one of their best cornerbacks.
Now, the defense will become even stronger just a couple of weeks before the team’s first postseason game.
Watson has 18 career pass deflections, 114 career tackles, five tackles for loss, and an interception in 38 career games played.
The Chiefs already rank fourth in the NFL in total defense and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo is coaching that unit well.
With Watson back, there can be less stress on the pass rush because of Kansas City’s ability to cover opposing wide receivers.
In a year where head coach Andy Reid and his team are trying to accomplish the impossible by winning their third consecutive Super Bowl title, moves like this can seemingly only help the team.
Kansas City closes up the regular season against the rival Denver Broncos on Sunday before getting a first-round bye in the playoffs.
If Watson plays in the game, Chiefs fans might want to have their eyes fixed on him.
