The Kansas City Chiefs have quickly turned into an NFL dynasty, winning two Super Bowls in the last five years.
Patrick Mahomes is one of the league’s best quarterbacks and is often credited as the biggest reason for their success.
Although Mahomes’ play has continued to be terrific, the Chiefs’ defense has gotten increasingly better as well.
One of their most impactful players last season was Trent McDuffie, a rookie that the Chiefs drafted 21st overall in 2022.
After just one NFL season, it appears that McDuffie might be changing his jersey number if his most recent Instagram post is true.

The number 22 was previously worn by Juan Thornhill, who has recently been signed by the Cleveland Browns.
McDuffie wore 22 on his jersey during his collegiate career, where he played for the University of Washington.
Now, McDuffie will look to improve upon his rookie season, perhaps, with a new number.
Last year, he totaled 44 tackles, seven pass deflections, one sack, and one interception.
Cornerback is a difficult position in the NFL, especially for rookies.
However, players like McDuffie and Sauce Gardner were able to acclimate right away, impacting their respective teams immediately.
The Chiefs were able to win the Super Bowl in 2022 with a young defense, hoisted by a strong offense.
Will they be able to repeat their success moving forward?
Mahomes and the offense should be able to continue similarly as last year, and the defense should be strong as well.
With Mahomes under center, this team appears to be limitless.
