Chet Holmgren of the Oklahoma City Thunder was limited this season due to a hip injury that kept him off the court for all but 32 games.
But he is back, healthy, and ready to play hard as the Thunder start their push into the playoffs.
Speaking with OKC Thunder Wire, Holmgren expressed how he’s feeling just days before the playoffs.
“I feel good. Everything I’m doing out there feels tight. I feel locked in. I feel confident and I feel aggressive,” Holmgren said. “So I feel good and our whole team has to play that way coming up.”
This will be Holmgren’s second time in the postseason.
Last year, he averaged 15.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and a league-high 2.5 blocks per game, and he is looking to at least match, if not surpass, those numbers in 2024-25.
Fans were worried about Holmgren this season because the injury kept him on the sidelines for a very long time.
There was worry that he wouldn’t be able to make the playoffs or, if he did, he wouldn’t be at 100 percent and able to contribute like they need.
But Holmgren appears in great shape, and his chemistry with Isaiah Hartenstein has never been better.
The Thunder have a lot to prove in the postseason.
They are the number one seed in the West, but there are still worries that they will fizzle out in the playoffs or not go all the way to the Finals.
At this point, anything less than a ton of postseason success for this team would look like a disappointment.
Holmgren sounds ready to play hard along with his teammates, so it’s time to prove what the Thunder are made of.
