When Chase Young entered the NFL, he made an immediate impact on the Washington Commanders franchise.
He won the Defensive Rookie of the Year award in 2020 and was also selected to the Pro Bowl.
Despite his early success, Young’s last two seasons have been riddled with injuries.
Many have wondered if Young will ever be the same, reaching his previous standing as one of the best defenders in the league.
In a recent conversation with the AP, Young said that he feels “himself” via Pro Football Talk.

Young also mentioned that he’s “feeling explosive again,” something that hasn’t been seen in the past two seasons.
At his peak, Young was seen as the next Aaron Donald.
His combination of size and speed paired with his elusiveness were all touted as elite features.
Despite having many doubters, Young believes he’ll be able to climb back to the defensive mountaintop, indicating that the 2023 season will be one of his best.
If this comes to fruition, it’ll be fantastic news for the Commanders, who had their fair share of struggles in 2022.
They were the only team in the NFC East to miss the playoffs, finishing the year with an 8-8-1 record.
While there are a lot of positions across the roster that are accompanied by question marks, if healthy, Young will answer some on the defensive side of the ball.
If the Commanders’ defense can put it together, it’ll make their offense that much stronger, especially with a new quarterback expected to take over.
