Over the last few weeks, there have been numerous rumors about the Phoenix Suns attempting to trade for Jimmy Butler, currently of the Miami Heat.
Why do they want Butler, especially with his expensive price tag?
Speaking to Arizona Sports, via NBACentral, Charles Barkley opened up about why the Suns might pursue Butler.
He suggested Butler is the sort of player who could hold others accountable and add extra leadership to the team.
When speaking about Suns star Devin Booker, Barkley said:
“I think he’s just too nice of a guy also. He doesn’t hold the other guys accountable. I think that’s why they want to get Jimmy Butler.”

Butler would bring strong numbers to Phoenix because he has been averaging 17.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game this season for the Heat.
But the Suns need more than a strong offensive output.
They also need a player who will push others, lead and keep everyone on the same page.
Throughout his career, Butler has shown he can do all of that.
For the last few years, many people have said the Suns need stronger leadership.
Fans were hoping Booker or Kevin Durant could bring that, but the Suns have continued to struggle, even with all their talent.
Could Butler be the puzzle piece they have been missing?
The Suns may want Butler, but they will have to do a lot of work to get him.
Trading for him will be difficult, especially with Bradley Beal’s no-trade clause, which presents a unique problem.
It’s not impossible, but it’ll be challenging.
