The Los Angeles Chargers took care of business on Thursday Night Football, coming back from behind and beating the Denver Broncos.
They needed a win in this game to keep their playoff hopes alive, and while they haven’t clinched a spot yet, they are that much closer to doing so.
Justin Herbert was instrumental in the team’s success in the second half, putting the team in his back even though he was recovering from an injury last week.
While the second half was all about Herbert for the Chargers, Cameron Dicker put his stamp on this game too by what he did to end the first half.
As Ari Meirov shared on X, Dicker made a 57-yard field goal to end the half, which came as a result of the first fair-catch free kick since 1976.

This is a rare play and opportunity for an offense, but Dicker and the Chargers took full advantage when given the opportunity.
Fans might not have fully understood what was happening at the time considering this is a strange occurrence, but it ended up working in the Chargers’ favor, helping them eventually win the game.
At 9-6, the Chargers are likely to make the postseason in the first year under Jim Harbaugh.
He’s seemingly unlocked something in this team that has struggled to find consistency in previous years.
Herbert continues to play inspired football, and this team is gelling and getting better each week, building momentum for a potentially deep playoff run.
