With their recent trade of Justin Fields, the Chicago Bears have all but confirmed they’ll be taking a quarterback with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The top quarterback prospect in the draft is Caleb Williams, a player whom many suspect the Bears will draft.
Chad Johnson recently talked about Williams’ potential impact on the Bears in a recent segment of “Nightcap” with Shannon Sharpe.
“I have a feeling, based on the talent that Caleb Williams is, that he can have the same effect on the Bears organization, the same way that Patrick Mahomes had on the Kansas City Chiefs, if they do right by him,” Johnson said.

It’s no secret that the Chicago Bears have struggled at quarterback for many years.
In fact, they are the only active team in the NFL that has never had their quarterback throw for more than 4,000 yards in a single season.
With any luck, Williams can bring this team the level of success they have been looking for, hopefully allowing them to be more competitive within the NFC North.
As Johnson mentions, if Williams succeeds, he could have a Mahomes-level effect in Chicago.
When the Chiefs drafted Mahomes, they were already a good team, but he brought them to the next level.
The Bears have been building for the past several seasons, so now it’s time for them to make a run at it with a new, highly-touted quarterback prospect.
It will be interesting to see if Williams can turn them around in one year or if it will take some time to get acclimated.
