After losing to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Boston Celtics felt it was time to shake things up during the NBA offseason, as they chose to make a move to bring in Kristaps Porzingis while notably parting ways with Marcus Smart and Grant Williams.
Clearly, this was a move to address the offensive side of the basketball floor, with two of the team’s best defenders heading elsewhere and bringing in a third scorer behind Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown in Porzingis.
At this point in time, there’s no telling whether the Celtics’ gamble on Porzingis will work, as he is not all that dependable with a lengthy injury history that dates back to his days with the New York Knicks.
However, the team feels confident in the moves they made this summer and will try to get back on track as a legitimate title contender in the Eastern Conference, but a couple of notable players were absent in the team’s recent hype video ahead of training camp.

The two players not seen in the video from the Celtics’ Twitter account are Al Horford and Malcolm Brogdon, which might be slightly concerning.
Obviously, players aren’t required to be at the team’s practice facility until training camp starts, so both players could still be on vacation or simply waiting until they have to report because they’re both veterans who had been there and done that time and time again.
However, Brogdon was unhappy about the team trying to try him earlier in the offseason, which might mean there’s some tension brewing in Boston.
