Boston Celtics fans aren’t that fond of Steve Kerr
Not only did he beat them in the NBA Finals a couple of years ago, but he also messed with their best player’s ego.
That’s why it wasn’t much of a surprise to hear some loud boos going his way when the Golden State Warriors were at the TD Garden for a matchup with the Celtics (via Conor Ryan).

Even so, Coach Kerr seemed unbothered by it.
It’s not the first time he’s been booed, nor will it be the last.
For those who aren’t following, Kerr became Boston’s public enemy number one for his treatment of Jayson Tatum during the Olympics, leaving him on the bench during crucial games.
Tatum, fresh off winning his first NBA championship and widely regarded as one of the best players in the league, was the odd man out in a star-studded Olympic roster.
Some of his Celtics teammates, like Jrue Holiday and Derrick White, took the floor more often than he did.
Truthfully, it’s hard to argue with Kerr’s methods, as Team USA still brought home the gold medal.
Team USA had superstar talents in all positions and needed to sacrifice something for the team’s sake.
Still, some thought this was just him playing mind games.
Whatever the case, Tatum will have more than enough opportunities to pursue the gold while playing a bigger role, and the boos didn’t do much, as the Warriors still beat the Celtics on the road.
