Everyone knows it won’t be easy for the Celtics, but they haven’t given up hope.
Assistant coach Sam Cassell talked about his team’s mindset and said this year’s training camp is the hardest he’s seen during his 34 years in the NBA.
The Celtics are going to push themselves and play hard, no matter the odds stacked against them.
“We want to be the hardest-playing team in basketball,” Cassell said.

The Celtics will be without Jayson Tatum in the new season as he recovers from his injury.
He said that he wants to come back at some point during the 2025-26 season, but that may not be possible.
Beyond that, they also lost players like Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday during the summer.
The Celtics are clearly going through major changes, and it’s no surprise that many people feel they don’t have a chance to reach the Finals.
But maybe that will work to their advantage.
Cassell and the rest of the coaching staff want this team to fight hard and scare their opponents.
They can overperform and catch the rest of the league off guard.
No matter what has happened to the roster, the Celtics will have a strong and determined attitude during every single game.
Cassell believes that could be their secret weapon.
It doesn’t matter what analysts and fans think; Cassell has faith in his team and believes they can still perform at a high level.
