Carmelo Anthony has been out of the NBA for an entire year now but he still remains in the basketball world.
That is true because he is close friends with a few current stars but also because his son, Kiyan, is an up-and-coming player who might be in the league soon.
Anthony was recently courtside to watch his son at the Nike Basketball World Basketball Festival, as made evident by a photo shared by the league on Twitter.

Anthony was looking well-rested and ready to root for his son.
The young players on the court probably felt elated to see Anthony so close to the game.
It would be like performing for NBA royalty.
Anthony was in the league for 19 years and found all sorts of success.
He was never able to win a championship but was an All-Star ten times, voted onto the All-NBA team six times, and was the 2012-13 scoring champion.
He also earned a spot on the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team.
As the years went on, Anthony played less and less and moved around more often.
He played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Portland Trail Blazers, and Los Angeles Lakers in the last few years of his career.
Even though he was playing fewer minutes and starting in fewer games, Anthony was still an important part of each team and focused on being clutch and helpful off the bench.
He wasn’t asked back to the Lakers after his single season there and decided to retire after that.
But now that his son is on the rise, it’s very likely that the NBA world hasn’t seen the last of Anthony.
