The San Antonio Spurs got their hands around the most hyped and impressive prospect in the history of the game.
But that doesn’t mean he’s going to be the GOAT as soon as he makes his debut, regardless of what people say or think about him.
With that in mind, former NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony shared a big piece of advice with him: Just hoop and enjoy Las Vegas.

“Just hoop and enjoy Vegas.”

That’s it right there; it shouldn’t be any more complicated than that.
Those who’ve been around the league long enough know that Summer League games are borderline meaningless.
But being a player under so much pressure, he was expected to dominate right away, which was pretty much unrealistic.
Performing well or poorly at this point doesn’t prove a thing, and the only thing players should be cautious about is not letting any of that get to their heads when it actually counts.
Wembanyama was humble enough to acknowledge he didn’t even know what he was doing out there in his first game, and he dominated in this second performance.
Still, NBA history has shown that no rookie is as good or as bad as he looked during their first couple of games in the summer.
The NBA season is a very long grind, and Wembanyama will have some great games, and others not so much.
In the meantime, he should just enjoy the ride and get ready for the real deal and the actual beginning of his career in the Association.
