When professional athletes retire from their respective sports, it can be difficult for them to decide what to do next.
Before becoming a professional athlete, they dedicated their whole life to a particular sport, making it difficult to have other hobbies or ventures.
Some athletes stick around the sport, becoming a coach, analyst, or team owner, while others go down a different path.
Carmelo Anthony has recently elected to stick around the sport, but not the NBA.
As was recently announced on the NBA on ESPN, Anthony is part of an ownership group for an NBL expansion team in Australia.

The NBL is a growing league in Australia, and it appears they are trying to attract more top talent to make the league more appealing.
Having Anthony as a part-owner can’t hurt either, given his level of popularity when he was in the league.
There are several leagues worldwide like the NBL, but nothing has gained traction like the NBA.
The NBA still dominates viewership compared to these other leagues, and with the number of international players electing to join the NBA rather than staying in other leagues, it will be interesting to see how the others stay afloat.
