The 2023 MLB season is nearly upon us, which means that teams and their fans will soon be able to see their new additions in action.
For the New York Yankees, Carlos Rodon is that addition.
The team signed the lefty ace to a six-year, $162 million contract after he went 14-8 with a 2.88 ERA in 2022 with the San Francisco Giants.
Rodon has emerged as a Cy Young-caliber pitcher and is set to lead a stacked Yankees rotation.
Recently, the veteran left-hander stopped by MLB Network to discuss his preparations for the 2023 season and what his plans are as he prepares for his first year in Yankee pinstripes.

Rodon made his goals clear.
The left-hander is hoping to repeat his success from the past two seasons.
He talked about the importance of attacking hitters with his fastball and to get outs, which he believes will lead to the Yankees winning plenty of games this year.
Rodon says that his pitch arsenal will stay relatively the same, but that he’ll make adjustments accordingly and will be prepared for any adjustments hitters facing him may make as well.
He also mentioned that he is working on perfecting his curveball.
Rodon noted that game plans will change and results will be different each time, which is why he’s also working on his changeup and being able to throw high fastballs.
Finally, Rodon commented on the state of the Yankees pitching staff, saying that if everybody performs up to par, the Yankees should have a dominant starting rotation.
