The Chicago Bears have something to think about when week 18 begins.
They walk into the last game of the NFL season with the second overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft.
However, they can move up to number one, or down to number four based on how the Bears and three other teams play on Sunday.
While falling down the draft order won’t affect who they draft, getting the number one pick will shake things up.
The reason behind this is the multiple teams wanting a franchise quarterback from the 2023 draft pool.
With the Houston Texans holding the first overall pick, what will it take to get the first pick?
First, the Bears will need to lose against the Minnesota Vikings.
While that’s something no fan wants to see, a loss at least secures the second-overall pick.
However, to secure the first pick, they also need the Texans to beat the Indianapolis Colts.
The task seems simple, but it’s also something that isn’t exciting for some fans.
I get people are talking themselves into excitement for the #Bears to lock up the first overall pick. A first in franchise history.
I’ll never be excited for that kind of nonsense. It never matters how high your draft picks are. It only matters if you make the right decisions.

It makes no sense to keep the first overall pick when the Bears have Justin Fields.
However, trading the pick makes sense and will build draft capital for the rebuilding Bears franchise.
A trade could concern fans, as a terrible trade could derail the Bears’ 2023 draft altogether.
But until Sunday’s slate of games is over, fans will have to wait to see where the Bears land in the 2023 draft.
