The Tennessee Titans may be 0-2 and have a lot of issues to clean up on the offensive side of the ball, but rookie No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward has passed the eye test so far and has Titans fans feeling great about the future, even if there aren’t a lot of wins coming just yet.
Ward hasn’t posted great stats through two games, but he has shown a lot of great traits and even made a bit of history after his first two starts.
Titans insider Jim Wyatt shared on X that Ward is the only quarterback drafted first overall to not throw an interception in either of his first two starts.

Ward’s issues thus far have been his offensive line allowing 11 sacks, his receivers dropping passes, and a number of penalties, but accuracy and decision-making certainly haven’t been a problem despite going up against two of the league’s better defenses in the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Rams.
Few expected the Titans to win much this year, as it’s clear the team is going through a rebuild, but Ward’s development and progression are by far the most important subplot in Tennessee in 2025.
It’s hard to believe that every first overall QB has thrown at least one pick through two starts, and Ward will look to extend his record in a battle with the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
Ward took steps forward in Week 2 as opposed to Week 1, and his leadership and moxie appear to be able to withstand the losses.
Tennessee has its guy, and the main goal for the organization is to build around him.
He can make a big statement by taking down Tennessee’s biggest rival for his first win on Sunday.
