The Brooklyn Nets no longer have Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, so they need to find someone else who can get them some buckets.
Mikal Bridges is breaking out offensively, proving that he’s way more than just a slasher or a 3-and-D kind of guy, but he can’t do it on his own.
With that in mind, some believe that coach Jacque Vaughn should lean on Cam Thomas to lead the offense, and he seems to agree with that statement.
In a recent interview with SchuZ (Via Nets Daily and NBA Central), Thomas claimed that he could easily average 25 points per game if he had the ball in his hands.
Cam Thomas says he’d average 25 points per game as a go-to guy
“Ball in my hand? 25 … 25 no doubt, easy.”

This isn’t the first time that Thomas has hinted at being discontent with his role.
In all honesty, he’s the kind of bucket-getter that could drop 25 points a night, but whether that would translate to winning basketball remains to be seen.
Thomas had some very good offensive performances last season when the team needed a scoring punch, and Kevin Durant praised him multiple times for his offensive repertoire.
Even before he made it to LSU, Thomas was already turning heads with his shot-making skills, but he still needs some more time to grow, mature, and develop his game.
Coach Vaughn and the Nets may have no choice but to make him the focal point of the offense going forward, but he’ll have to put his money where his mouth is and prove that he’s actually as good as he says he is.
