The Atlanta Falcons face an unusual situation as their mandatory minicamp begins.
Quarterback Kirk Cousins remains on the roster despite his continued interest in finding a new team.
Most NFL teams have already settled their quarterback situation, leaving limited options for the veteran.
The New Orleans Saints represent a possibility, creating the awkward scenario of Atlanta’s divisional rival potentially acquiring their starting quarterback.
Saints defensive end Cam Jordan was recently asked about the possibility of Cousins coming to New Orleans.
“Rationally speaking, would you bring in a veteran quarterback? Sure. But again this is all depending on how we look like when we put pads on,” Jordan said, via “Up & Adams.” “If our guys, Spencer [Rattler], who had some game play time last year, looks phenomenal, then great. If Tyler Shough looks like he’s getting Day One ready, phenomenal. Hunter Dekkers, we added him the last couple of weeks. Add him in there. We got a young, potentially exciting quarterback room. On that note, would I love a veteran? Yeah, because I always love a good veteran presence. I always love somebody who does things the right way and you know you can model your game after. Now, does that equal any of the veteran presence out there? I don’t know. That’s beyond me.”

Jordan’s diplomatic response spoke volumes about his feelings regarding Cousins.
Rather than offering a straightforward answer, he chose to highlight New Orleans’ current quarterbacks while subtly questioning whether available veterans meet the team’s standards.
The reality remains that Atlanta likely would not trade Cousins to an NFC South rival.
The optics alone could create a public relations nightmare, regardless of how such a move played out in New Orleans.
Jordan appears comfortable with the Saints’ current quarterback group moving forward.
