The New Orleans Saints are coming off a close win against the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football.
This propelled the Saints to a 3-2 record, staying in the race for the divisional lead.
While the Saints’ offense has been serviceable, their defense has been a primary factor in keeping them in games.
Through five weeks, the Saints have allowed 15.2 points per game, the third-lowest amount in the league.
Cameron Jordan was recently asked about the Saints’ defense on a segment of “Up and Adams” with Kay Adams.
When Adams brought up the Saints’ metrics, Jordan said, “All I care about is playoff contention.”
This is the best defense that @camjordan94 has been on as a @Saints! Swear.
Now.. does he care?
Saints.

While Jordan seemed excited about the dominant play of the Saints’ defense, he was cautiously optimistic about the stats Adams pointed out.
“If you are the 32nd-ranked defense and you have a Super Bowl ring, no one cares,” Jordan said.
At this point in the season, rankings only mean so much, as Jordan indicated.
The Saints’ defense has played well to this point, but there is a lot of season left.
Teams can play well early on in the year, but fall quickly in the back half of the season if injuries begin to creep up on them.
At the end of the day, veteran players like Jordan only care about postseason success.
He recognizes that the regular season numbers aren’t important if a team goes one-and-done in the playoffs.
Can the Saints’ defense do enough over the next several weeks to propel themselves to a division win?
