The Jacksonville Jaguars burst onto the scene last season with head coach Doug Pederson helping turn things around and get the best out of star quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
After an impressive end to last season, in which the Jaguars gave the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs all they could handle in the NFL playoffs, Jacksonville is expected to make some noise during the 2023 NFL season.
Along with being considered a team on the rise in the AFC, with Lawrence starting to show his potential as an elite quarterback in the league, the Jaguars acquired wide receiver Calvin Ridley in a trade with the Atlanta Falcons.
This move flew entirely under the radar as some had forgotten about Ridley after he was suspended by the league, but Jacksonville got a steal, and it’s already paying off in Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts, as Lawrence found him in the endzone early on Sunday via NFL.
Heck of an effort by @Trevorlawrencee who finds @CalvinRidley1 for the TD! @Jaguars are on the board!

One thing that Lawrence has been missing during his short career in the NFL thus far has been a go-to guy in the passing game, which he may now have with Ridley looking like he hasn’t missed a beat and ready to put the league on notice.
The Jaguars could be as potent as any offense in the NFL if Ridley becomes Lawrence’s go-to guy, with the team already showing signs of promise offensively last season.
It’ll be interesting to see if Ridley and Lawrence can continue to connect in Week 1 and in the weeks to follow.
