The Chicago Bears hold the keys to the 2024 NFL Draft because they own the No. 1 overall pick.
Chicago owns the first overall selection for the second year in a row thanks to a shrewd trade with the Carolina Panthers last year, and now can take a franchise-altering talent.
USC quarterback Caleb Williams is considered the prize of the draft and the Bears have the first right to draft him if they choose to.
All signs point to them taking Williams despite already having Justin Fields on the roster.
Chicago appears to be leaning toward trading Fields to a quarterback-needy team and resetting the clock at the position with Williams.
The steam for Williams to the Bears picked up when he was spotted with the team’s quarterbacks coach, Kerry Joseph, via Sports Mockery.

It doesn’t seem like a coincidence that Joseph was talking with Williams considering how much Chicago’s been linked to him in recent weeks.
It’s perhaps nothing more than a candid photo of a conversation between the two, but it at least adds evidence to the Bears’ interest in him.
Any team would be foolish to pass on Williams if they were in Chicago’s shoes because of what the USC star can do on the field.
Williams is one of the best prospects in recent memory because of his arm talent, creativity, and poise under pressure.
He’s drawn comparisons to Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes and the Bears should be all over him because that type of ceiling is generational.
