Certain metrics in the NFL are considered major career milestones.
Quarterbacks are celebrated when they reach a significant threshold of career passing touchdowns, and receivers tend to receive praise when they reach high-caliber receiving yards throughout a career.
While offensive players tend to hold a larger place in the spotlight, defensive players have a firm place in the record books as well.
Longtime NFL veteran and Atlanta Falcons defensive end Calais Campbell recently achieved 100 career sacks, a metric that is looked upon as an elite mark throughout a career.
Campbell highlighted his thoughts on this milestone in a recent conversation with Jim Rome.

Rome started this conversation by highlighting Campbell’s career, discussing how important of a milestone this is.
He then asked Campbell what this meant to him, who responded, “I feel like I’m one of the best run-stoppers in the game, probably of all time.”
Campbell also described this moment as a goal of his, once he found himself as an established member of the NFL.
He recognized that early on in life, his goal was to make it to the league.
Once he made it, he set his sights on making it into the record books, something he did with this accomplishment.
Campbell’s career sack total is at 101.
This puts him at 57th on the NFL’s all-time sack list, an indication of how dominant he has been throughout his career.
Setting yourself apart as an edge rusher can be difficult to do, but Campbell has more than proven that he is a special player.
