The Minnesota Timberwolves have remained the number one seed in the Western Conference for the majority of the NBA season.
They currently have a 39-16 record, which is, of course, the best record in the West heading into the All-Star break.
While the Timberwolves have a talented trio of Anthony Edwards, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Rudy Gobert, not many view the team as the favorites in the conference.
In fact, New Orleans Pelicans guard C.J. McCollum recently spoke about the same and claimed the Timberwolves aren’t the best team they have faced this season via Oh no he didn’t on Twitter.
“There’s not a lot of teams that want to a play a healthy version of the New Orleans Pelicans, including them,” McCollum said.

Rather than taking a dig at the Timberwolves, McCollum’s primary goal seemed to highlight the talent that the Pelicans have if they are completely healthy.
Of course, they have their own trio of Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, and C.J. McCollum, but are they really better than the Timberwolves?
Well, as far as their record is concerned, the Pelicans have a 2-2 record against the Timberwolves this season.
As for the season, the Pelicans are currently tied with the Phoenix Suns with a 33-22 record, as they hold the sixth seed in the Western Conference this season.
Prior to the All-Star break, the Pelicans were on a three-game winning streak, and they flaunted a 7-3 record in their last 10 games of the season.
Keeping that in mind, it won’t be a surprise if the Pelicans go on an excellent run in the remainder of the season to earn a top-four seed to finish the season.
