When Zion Williamson was selected as the number one overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, he was expected to be the next big thing in the league.
However, Williamson has yet to reach those high expectations set for him prior to making his debut in the NBA.
The biggest criticism Williamson has received throughout his journey in the league has been his lack of focus on his health and fitness.
Some have even questioned Williamson’s love for the game.
But Williamson is proving doubters wrong this season as he has already played in 44 games.
Speaking of Williamson, New Orleans Pelicans’ C.J. McCollum recently sent a clear message about his teammate via NBA on ESPN on Twitter.
“His actions have demonstrated that he cares,” McCollum said.

Williamson has been berated by many NBA experts for his uncaring attitude toward getting better at the game of basketball.
However, McCollum believes that the 23-year-old star is focused on becoming the best version of himself.
Well, McCollum’s statement is supported by Williamson’s excellent numbers this season.
He has played 44 games for the Pelicans, where he has contributed 22.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game for the team.
Williamson has also shot 58.5% from the field and 36.4% from the three-point line.
Although Williamson missed the NBA All-Star game this season, it will be worth missing the event if he can lead the Pelicans to a deep playoff run.
As of now, the Pelicans are the sixth seed in the Western Conference with a solid 33-22 record.
