The Philadelphia Eagles made headlines during the start of this year’s free agency period by singing Saquon Barkley to a three-year deal.
Barkley played the first part of his career with the New York Giants, but it was clear that he was looking for a change.
The Eagles took advantage of his wandering eyes and snatched him from their divisional rival.
While this was certainly a big move that will help their offense tremendously, they appear to be far from done.
According to reporter Derrick Gunn via Dov Kleiman, the Eagles are still trying to pursue C.J. Gardner-Johnson.

Gardner-Johnson was a valued member of the Eagles’ defense, but he signed with the Detroit Lions last year.
His deal was only for one year, and seeing that he only played in three games due to injury, the Lions might not be interested in re-signing him.
This would be an excellent fit for the Eagles for a few reasons.
Gardner-Johnson has already played in their system, and he knows what to expect from head coach Nick Sirianni.
While this is certainly a positive for him and the team’s chances of signing him to a deal, another fact remains.
The Eagles had one of the worst secondaries in the league last year, which was put on full display in the back half of the season.
Their offense was unable to keep up with a barrage of scoring down the stretch, which is ultimately why the Eagles couldn’t advance past the Wild Card round.
Will they add Gardner-Johnson to their roster to try to correct what happened last season?
