C.J. Cron On A Historic Home Run Pace To Start The Year

When a power hitter gets into his zone and gets hot, it’s very hard to cool him down.

Until that happens, he’ll hit home runs left and right and be a tough out for any given pitcher.

Colorado Rockies first baseman C.J. Cron is known to have a big boom stick.

The 32-year-old slugger is no stranger to hitting some bombs, having had some years in which he hit over 20 home runs and even reached 30 in 2018.

Cron is off to the races in terms of power numbers in 2022, having already hit six in 11 games.

Cron’s power was on display last night during the Rockies’ game against the Philadelphia Phillies, when he blasted a go-ahead three-run homer off Phillies’ reliever Jeurys Familia in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Cron On Fire

Cron is on a historic pace to start the season.

He may not be a superstar, but he has incredible power and can hit a ton of home runs.

In just 43 at-bats, Cron is hitting .326 with 14 RBIs in addition to his six home runs.

Again, when a power hitter gets going, he’s super tough to slow down.

Cron is having one of those stretches where getting him out is nearly impossible.

And playing at Coors Field 81 games per year can’t hurt him either, the way the ball travels at that ballpark right near the Rocky Mountains.

Altitude certainly helps, but the fact is that Cron is simply locked in.

He’s capable of hitting 30 or more home runs in a single season and thus far he appears to be on pace to do just that.

Time will tell if Cron can continue this impressive trend.
