For years now, there have been rumors about the Chicago Bulls trading Nikola Vucevic.
Those rumors have never resulted in anything, but they are now heating up during this very busy offseason.
According to Yahoo Sports, via Legion Hoops, the Bulls might make a big move with Vucevic, and it’s not one many people expected.
If the team cannot create a trade with the player, they are expected to release him from his contract.
This would put an end to his five-season stay in Chicago and free him up to go elsewhere in the NBA, or beyond.

Vucevic has averaged 18.2 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists during his time with the Bulls.
He has been a central part of the team, but the Bulls have reportedly been trying to move him for years.
However, the trade market for Vucevic has basically vanished, and other teams aren’t willing to spend the money he is owed.
That leaves the Bulls in a tough position because they are ready to move on from him, but they can’t find the right trade partner to take him.
If he’s released from his contract, Vucevic will still have options.
He would be able to sign a new deal with another team in the league, or he could move overseas and play in a foreign market, which is something he has talked about before.
Vucevic is from Switzerland, and moving to the EuroLeague might be a smart choice for him.
Of course, the Bulls might find a team that will take him before the start of the new season.
This news makes one thing clear: Chicago is prepared to finally say goodbye to Vucevic, one way or another.
