The Milwaukee Bucks suffered an early postseason exit and none of their star players won a major NBA award, so some might believe this season was a bit of a failure, contrary to what Giannis Antetokounmpo may say.
Despite being in the race for most of the season, Giannis didn’t win MVP, Brook Lopez wasn’t named Defensive Player of the Year, and Bobby Portis missed the cut for Sixth Man of the Year.
However, another member of the organization was rewarded with a very valuable recognition: the 2022-23 Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award.
Milwaukee Bucks guard Jrue Holiday has been named the winner of the 2022-23 Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award, the NBA announced today.

Jrue Holiday, one of the most beloved and respected members of the organization and the league as a whole, got the award this time, beating the likes of Mikal Bridges, Stephen Curry, Derrick Rose, Udonis Haslem, Damian Lillard, Harrison Barnes, Damion Lee, Darius Garland, Grant Williams, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Aaron Gordon.
Holiday has earned plenty of praise for his personality and attitude throughout his entire career, and he became a league-wide fan favorite when he took a hiatus from playing just to take care of his sick wife.
More than that, it feels like he’s been one of the most underrated players in the league for quite a while now.
Holiday is one of the elite defensive players in the game, one of the few guys who could guard one through five, all while being able to put up 20 points with six assists on any given night.
This award may not mean much to some, but he’ll surely cherish it forever.
